Highland Park police report thefts of backpack mosquito sprayer and $3,900 worth of electric toothbrushes, razors

The following items were taken from Highland Park police department and Lake County Court clerk reports, news releases and records. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

THEFT

Someone stole a backpack mosquito sprayer from vehicle at a business in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road June 30. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked.

An unknown individual stole electric toothbrushes and razors from a retail business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. The estimated value of the merchandise is $3,900.

CANNABIS POSSESSION

Antoine L. Knight, 33, of Milwaukee, was charged with felony possession of cannabis, driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and improper use of registration July 9. He was arrested after police responded to a driving complaint near the intersection of Half Day and Skokie Valley roads and found him to be driving under the influence. He is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Aug. 23 in Waukegan for a preliminary hearing.

RESISTING ARREST

Christian Wong, 40, of the 8700 block of South Kildare Avenue in Chicago, was charged with felony resisting a peace officer and unauthorized use of a handicapped parking space July 11. He was arrested after police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 1300 block of Half Day Road. He was scheduled to appear in Lake County Court July 18 in Waukegan for a bond review.

WARRANT APPREHENSION

Reyna Lopez. 33, of the 2300 block of West 72nd Street in Chicago, was apprehended on a warrant for resisting a peace officer, obstructing identification and criminal trespass to a vehicle July 11. She was taken into custody after police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 1300 block of Half Day Road and learned of the warrant. She was transported to the Lake County jail for a bond hearing.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Earl Palmer, 67, of the 4900 block of North Kenmore Avenue in Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle July 2. After police learned a vehicle was stolen from a business in the 1400 block of Old Skokie Road, officers discovered Palmer was driving the vehicle. He was released on bond and was scheduled to appear in Lake County Court July 17 in Waukegan.
